According to Football Insider, Liverpool and Southampton are interested in signing Lloyd Kelly from Bristol City in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Liverpool have been keeping tabs on the 20-year-old defender this season.
The report has also claimed of interest from the Reds’ Premier League rivals Southampton, who are monitoring the England Under-21 international.
Liverpool or Southampton?
Kelly has been superb for City in the Championship this season, and the progress and the development of the young defender has been excellent.
According to WhoScored, the left-back has made 26 starts and six substitute appearances in the league for City this campaign, scoring one goal in the process.
Liverpool have a very good team, and Kelly will struggle to establish himself in Jurgen Klopp’s first team next season.
The 20-year-old will get more chances if he joins Southampton, who could be a very good and entertaining team under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl.
Spending a season or two at Southampton and then moving to a bigger club such as Liverpool will be a good idea for Kelly.
