Richarlison has revealed he has told David Neres to join him at Everton this summer, according to a report by the Liverpool Echo.
The pair are currently together on international duty with Brazil for the Copa America tournament and partnered each other in their opening match against Bolivia.
Everton are one of a few sides that have been heavily linked with a move for the Ajax man and although Richarlison did not suggest the Toffees are one of the teams interested, he did admit he has spoken to the winger about joining him at Goodison Park.
“Yeah, I read something about that,” Richarlison told the Liverpool Echo. “I’ve spoken to him about it already. I told him the doors are open for him there, and that he could help us a lot.
“I hope he comes. He’d be very welcome there. I’ve known him since we played together for Brazil’s U20 side, and he’s a guy I get along with really well. Hopefully, I’ll see him there.”
Neres would not only team up with Richarlison at Everton though if he were to join them, as Bernard is also in Marco Silva’s current set up and both men have excelled in their debut campaigns for the Toffees.
The manager already held a pre-existing relationship with Richarlison after their time together at Watford and the Brazil international has clearly benefitted from the partnership.
Bernard may have only joined last summer, and despite a rather slow start, he became a solid member of the squad as time went by and started to become a huge influence of games before the campaign came to an end.
Neres, who is only 22-years-old, had an exceptional year with Ajax in the Eredivisie last season as he managed to net eight goals and provide his team-mates with 11 assists in his 29 appearances (Transfermarkt).
If Richarlison’s words manage to convince the youngster that Everton is the place for him to be for the upcoming campaign, Goodison Park could have an outstanding Brazilian attack.
