Paris-Saint Germain are reportedly plotting a £20 million move for Everton forward Henry Onyekuru, according to a report published by TeamTalk.
The 21-year-old is currently on loan with Turkish side Galatasaray. The Everton man has been very impressive this season as he has gone on to so far score 11 goals and record one assist from 23 Super Lig games for his side who are in second place on the Turkish top-flight standings.
The French club are not the only team that has become interested in acquiring the services of the Nigerian. The report added that other clubs who are interested include Marseille, Monaco, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Sevilla.
Onyekuru arrived at the Toffees from Belgian club Eupen during the summer of 2017. The Everton man has yet to play a competitive game for the Merseysiders and has had two spells with Anderlecht and Galatasaray which have both been largely successful.
The Merseysiders now find themselves in a bit of a difficult situation. Onyekuru’s value has clearly risen without him even having kicked a ball for the club. If they end up selling him for £20 million, they will end up receiving almost three times the £7 million which they paid for him back in 2017. It is also not certain whether he will adapt to the Premier League. If he fails to do so, he could have to be sold cheaply.
However, he has shown signs that he can succeed at the highest level and if he does go on and become a football star with time, many Everton fans would regret the club’s decision.
