Burnley are interested in signing Leeds United duo Kemar Roofe and Mateusz Klich, according to a report published by Football Insider.
The Clarets flirted with relegation from the Premier League for much of last season and need to bolster their side this summer if they do not want the same thing to happen next season.
It now appears that Sean Dyche’s Burnley men are looking to take advantage of Leeds’ financial situation after they failed to secure top-flight promotion last season. Dyche’s side have so far secured the services of West Brom attacker Jay Rodriguez.
The 26-year-old Leeds forward Roofe has entered the final year of his contract at Elland Road.
He is now approaching the peak of his career and may feel that the time is right for him to make the step up to England’s elite league.
It will be a major blow for Leeds if they lose the attacker. He was one of the club’s best players last season as he went on to score 15 goals and provide two assists from 33 second-tier games.
Roofe could be a good addition to Dyche’s side. His stats from last season certainly do suggest that he is capable of scoring goals in the Premier League. The Clarets need players who can hit the back of the net regularly if they want to see improvement next season.
Leeds face a testing situation this summer. They could face a stern test to keep a number of their more seasoned professionals at the club and this could hamper their chances of securing automatic promotion next season.
They have already parted ways with experienced defender Pontus Jansson, who has joined Brentford.
