Newcastle United are interested in signing Leicester City winger Demarai Gray in January, according to the Sunday Mirror.
The 24-year-old is destined to leave the Foxes in January, as he is currently surplus to requirements at the club. The Englishman has registered just one competitive appearance so far this season.
Gray is in the final few months of his contract and Leicester will try to offload him in January so that they can get a small fee for his signature, instead of losing him for free at the end of the season.
Newcastle have had a decent start to the Premier League season but do need to add to their squad if they want to challenge for a solid finish in the top half of the standings.
By moving to the Magpies, Gray would be destined to get regular playing time, and that could serve him well in his quest to break into the England side.
The report did add that Spurs are also interested.
Newcastle could face tough competition from Spurs given that they are expected to challenge for a top-four finish and potentially compete in the title race.
Gray could also improve playing alongside top quality players such as Harry Kane and Son Heung-Min.
