RB Leipzig manager Julian Nagelsmann has been linked with a potential switch to Tottenham Hotspur and is the North London club’s preferred option should Mauricio Pochettino leave the club, according to Football Fancast.
Spurs are under-performing this season and currently find themselves in 14th place on the Premier League standings after having taken just 14 points from 12 games to date.
One gets the impression that Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino may walk away from his job for a new challenge before long if things continue as they have been.
The Argentine has been in charge of the North Londoners for five years.
Pochettino has manufactured an exciting brand of football at Tottenham but has been unable to guide them to a major trophy.
Nagelsmann would be an apt replacement for Pochettino. He is just 32-years-old and has carved out an impressive reputation for the work that he has done in charge of RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga.
The rising star does however lack prior experience in English football.
Opting for young managers does not often work out as planned as could be seen from what transpired when both Chelsea and Tottenham hired Andre Villas-Boas to lead them during the early parts of the current decade.
Reported Tottenham target Nagelsmann could also be a potential candidate for the German national team job should they not perform well during next years European Championships.
Joachim Low has been in charge of the 2014 World Cup winners since 2006 and some feel that fresh energy is now needed especially after the football giants were eliminated during the group stage of the 2018 World Cup.
