According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic will hand former Leicester City defender Danny Simpson a trial next week.
Simpson is a free agent at the moment, having parted company with Premier League club Leicester at the end of last season.
It has been reported that the 32-year-old right-back will join the Hoops next week for training.
Celtic manager Neil Lennon is reportedly looking for a right-back as a replacement for the departed Mikael Lustig and will give former Manchester United defender Simpson the chance to earn a contract with the Hoops.
Good move for Celtic?
Celtic have to sign a right-back soon, and Simpson does fit the bill for the Glasgow giants.
The former Newcastle United and Queens Park Rangers right-back has extensive experience, and he is certainly good enough to play in Scotland.
Simpson won the Premier League title with Leicester during the 2015-16 campaign, and at the age of 32, he is not finished yet and can play at a very high level for the next few years.
