A report published by The Bristol Post has claimed that Joe Williams will leave Everton during the coming days and join Bristol City on loan.

The 22-year-old spent the first half of the season on loan with Championship side Bolton Wanderers and went on to make 19 Championship appearances.

However, Everton manager Marco Silva is set to send him elsewhere for the remainder of the season. Williams has been linked with a move to Bristol City with reports suggesting that the Toffees feel that he will benefit more from playing for the Robins.

Bolton are currently in the Championship relegation zone. Bristol City meanwhile are faring much better as they are currently in 11th position on the second-tier standings. The Robins can realistically challenge for a place in the promotion play-offs this season.

Despite having yet to make a senior appearance for Everton, Williams is a highly-rated player and showed promising signs during the first half of the season.

The player midfielder has reportedly attracted interest from a number of clubs and Everton are reported to have rejected a number of bids as they continue to evaluate his progress.

The Toffees will surely monitor Williams’s progress during the second half of the campaign. If he maintains good form, he could possibly be integrated into the Merseysiders first-team plans for next season.

Everton fans love homegrown players and would surely welcome the potential for Williams to get a chance in the senior set up.
