Everton are interested in Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn, according to TeamTalk.
Even though the Villans are Premier League relegation candidates this term, the Scotland international has adapted well to the English top-flight and has been one of Dean Smith’s top performers along with Jack Grealish.
Reported Everton target McGinn joined Villa during the summer of 2018, moving to the Birmingham-based club from Hibs.
The 25-year-old helped the Midlands club to win promotion to the Premier League via the Championship promotion playoffs last season and has been a regular for his side in the top-flight.
McGinn and Grealish are likely to leave Villa if the club is relegated this season.
The report added that Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City have also expressed interest in the prospect of signing McGinn.
Everton struggled during the first half of the season but have improved since Carlo Ancelotti was appointed as their manager, succeeding the sacked Marco Silva.
Ancelotti’s aim for next season will surely be to push towards European qualification.
Everton have been spending heavily in the transfer market during recent years but they have made a number of bad signings.
That is something which they will be aiming to rectify under the guidance of Ancelotti, who is a decorated manager and has won major trophies including Serie A, Ligue 1, the Champions League and Premier League.
The Toffees will be looking to once again make some big adjustments to their squad during the summer transfer window and a move for McGinn could prove to be a good investment.
