Report: European media suggest Liverpool could land big-money signing, fans would be delighted

Liverpool are in pole position to sign Borussia Dortmund attacker Jadon Sancho, according to French source Le10Sport.

The report suggests that Dortmund will not stand in the way of the youngster if he wants to join the Reds this summer, though they will demand a high price for their young star.

Liverpool have one of the world’s most lethal attacking tridents in the form of Mo Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino, with the Anfield side on the cusp of becoming English champions.

Adding Sancho to the Reds’ ranks would be a massive show of power this summer and make the Merseysiders an ominous proposition in 2020-21.

Sancho moved to Dortmund during the summer of 2017 after he struggled to break into the first-team of former club Manchester City.

The reported Liverpool target spent the first season of his time with Dortmund as a fringe-player but had a breakthrough campaign during the following campaign.

Sancho made 43 appearances in all competitions, scoring 13 goals during the 2018/19 season.

His form subsequently led to him being deemed as one of the best attacking English players and also won him selection to Gareth Southgate’s England team.

Sancho is expected to leave Dortmund in the near future. Whilst the Bundesliga outfit allowed him the opportunities to truly establish himself as a world-class talent, he will need to leave in the near future in order to take his career to the next level and win major silverware.

If Liverpool are to land the flying winger, they will surely have to beat some of Europe’s richest clubs to the Englishman’s signature.
