Glasgow Celtic fans were hit with some bad news as the suggestion that the club have a clause to sign on loan goalkeeper Fraser Forster is not true, according to the Daily Echo.
The stopper is on loan with the Bhoys from Southampton, where he seemingly doesn’t have much of a future, despite it being a position that the Premier League club are struggling in at the present time.
It certainly isn’t an area where Celtic are having any issues, as the man on loan from the Saints for the remainder of the season has started the campaign in excellent form, and looks like he will be a key man in any success that comes the way of the Glasgow giants this term.
Forster joined the Bhoys in the summer transfer window, with it being said at the time that it was a temporary spell, in which Neil Lennon and his staff had the option to turn the switch into a permanent one, although there are now doubts over the legacy of that statement.
That will no doubt come as a blow to Celtic fans, who have already taken the Englishman to their heart, after his fine beginning to the season.
It will also leave the Bhoys boss searching for a new goalkeeper long-term, with it seeming as though all he is doing presently is sharpening Forster up for a return to Southampton, with his value increasing with every big game he has for the Scottish outfit.
The 31-year-old will look to continue his good form when Celtic return to action after the international break this weekend. They host Ross County at Celtic Park, looking for three valuable points as they look to overhaul Rangers in the Scottish Premiership.
Another decent performance from the Bhoys’ on loan goalkeeper will give them every chance of achieving that victory too.
