According to Football Insider, Celtic plan to include Luca Connell in the first team this season.

it has been reported that the Celtic coaching staff have been impressed by the 18-year-old, who can operate as a defender or as a midfielder.

The teenager joined the Hoops in the summer transfer window after leaving Bolton Wanderers in England.

The report has claimed that the talented and promising teenager has already impressed Celtic first-team manager Neil Lennon and his coaching staff in training.

It has been further reported that the Hoops plan to give Connell chances in the first team this season, despite the Republic of Ireland Under-19 international having been signed for the Development Squad initially.

One for the future

Connell is only 18 years of age, and it is clear that he is not the finished article and will need time to establish himself in the Celtic first team.

However, getting some valuable playing time and chances this season will help in his development and progress as a footballer.
