Celtic are interested in signing Sheffield United striker David Parkhouse, according to Football Insider.

It has been reported that the Scottish Premiership giants are making regular assessments of the 19-year-old striker ahead of a possible January move.

The report has claimed that the Hoops could look to agree a pre-contract with the Northern Irish striker in January, with his current contract at Premier League club United running out at the end of the season.

Scouts from several clubs have watched Parkhouse in action during his loan spell at League of Ireland side Derry City, according to the report.

One for the future

Parkhouse is only 19 years of age, and having been a success in the League of Ireland, it is clear that he is ready to step up.

Playing in the Premier League right now with the Blades may be a step too far, and a move to Celtic in the Scottish Premiership next summer will not be a bad idea.
