According to The Chronicle, Celtic are interested in signing Karl Darlow from Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
It has been suggested in the report that the 28-year-old goalkeeper would cost £3 million in transfer fees.
The Englishman has been on the books of Newcastle since 2014 when he joined from Nottingham Forest.
However, the 28-year-old has struggled to establish himself in the Newcastle first team, and it would make sense for the Premier League club to cash in on Darlow this summer.
Craig Gordon and Scott Bain are the two main goalkeepers at Celtic at the moment, but while the former is 36 years of age, the latter has not always been the first choice between the posts for the Hoops this season.
Darlow is a very good goalkeeper, and given that he is 28 years of age, he could compete with 27-year-old Bain for a place in the starting lineup for years to come.
Celtic have already won the Scottish Premiership title and the Scottish League Cup this season, while Newcastle have retained their Premier League status for the 2019-20 campaign.
