According to Football Insider, Aston Villa remain interested in Neil Etheridge despite Cardiff City turning down their initial bid.
It has been reported that Villa, who will play in the Premier League next season after clinching promotion via the Championship playoffs, made an offer of £8 million for the goalkeeper, but Cardiff rejected it.
The Villans, though, according to the report, remain interested in the Philippines international and have made a second bid of £9m.
Football Insider has claimed that Cardiff, who got relegated from the Premier League to the Championship at the end of the 2018-19 campaign,
want £10m as transfer fee for the former Walsall goalkeeper, with Fulham – who will also play in the second tier of English football next season after finishing in the bottom three in the top flight this term – interested in the 29-year-old as well.
According to WhoScored, Etheridge made 45 appearances in the Championship for Cardiff in 2017-18 and played in 38 Premier League matches for the Welsh outfit this season.
