Burnley are interested in signing Glasgow Celtic star Nir Bitton for £1 million during the January transfer window, according to a report which was published by The Scottish Sun.
The Israel international is a key part of Neil Lennon’s Hoops side and has so far played 15 times in all competitions this season.
Celtic face a tough challenge to impress in the Europa League as well as win the Scottish Premiership this season due to heavy competition from Rangers.
The Hoops will ideally be trying to keep Bitton happy as he is an ideal first-team member.
At 28-years-old, Celtic star Bitton is however at the peak of his career and he may also be feeling that the time is right for him to challenge himself in one of Europe’s top five leagues.
If he does not make the move by leaving Parkhead within the next two years, he may also never really get an opportunity to do so.
Bitton has been part of the Celtic first-team since 2013 after having joined from Ashdod.
He has since gone on to make 196 appearances in all competitions for the Scottish giants, scoring 12 goals.
With Celtic, Bitton has won virtually everything that there is to win in Scottish football. He has claimed six Scottish Premiership titles, four Scottish League Cup titles, and three Scottish Cup titles.
It will be hard to fault him if he wants to indeed leave Parkhead.
