Scottish champions Glasgow Celtic are interested in recruiting French centre-back Kiki Kouyate, according to France Football.
The Mali international is currently on the books of Ligue 2 club Troyes. It will hard to see him not being open to a move to Scotland.
A move to Celtic Park will allow him to hone his craft further.
The Hoops will have to be in the market for new centre-back recruits this summer.
They have already parted ways with Jozo Simunovic and are also set to soon part ways with Kristofer Ajer who has been linked with a number of high-profile moves.
The report added that Troyes have rejected a £3 million offer for Kouyate and are holding out for a sum of money in the region of £4.5 million.
Celtic have recently had good experiences when they looked to recruit French players.
Odsonne Edouard, Christopher Jullien and Moussa Dembele have all been successes with the club.
Now with Lyon in France, Dembele has become one of the hottest young strikers in Europe and is destined to leave Lyon as well as gain selection to the French national team in the near future.
Kouyate is a product of the Sporting Lisbon academy and is blessed with great height.
This could help him to succeed if he makes Celtic his new home. The sum of money required to sign him is not cheap and the Hoops transfer plans for this summer will likely be affected due to the COVID-19 crisis.
It remains to be seen whether Neil Lennon will be willing to fork out heavily in order to recruit Kouyate.
