According to The Mirror, Aston Villa are interested in signing Steven Nzonzi from AS Roma in the January transfer window.
Nzonzi is on loan at Turkish giants Galatasaray from Serie A outfit Roma at the moment.
However, the France international has been suspended by Galatasaray after a training ground row last month, and the midfielder is now open to cancelling his loan deal at the Super Lig club, accordion to the report.
The Mirror has claimed that Villa manager Dean Smith is looking at the possibility of bringing the former Blackburn Rovers and Stoke City defensive midfielder back to the Premier League.
Good signing for Aston Villa?
Villa could do with a defensive midfielder to shore up their defence, and Nzonzi would not be a bad signing on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 31-year-old is a very good player who knows the Premier League well, and his experience in the top-flight of English football could prove to be massive in Villa’s quest to avoid relegation to the Championship.
