According to The Guardian, Aston Villa are interested in signing Ethan Ampadu from the Chelsea in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Villa – who will play in the Premier League next season after clinching promotion from the Championship via the playoffs – are interested in signing Ampadu on a season-long loan deal from Chelsea this summer.
Dean Smith’s side will reportedly target the 18-year-old Wales international should Chelsea decide to make him available for a loan spell.
Ampadu is a very talented and promising young player who can operate as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder.
The Wales international joined Chelsea in 2017 after leaving Exeter City, and the teenager has played a handful of matches for the Blues’ first team.
According to WhoScored, Ampadu made three appearances in the Europa League and played twice in the FA Cup for Chelsea this past season.
Playing regularly in the Premier League for Villa next season can only help Ampadu in his development and progress.
