According to Football Insider, Aston Villa are interested in signing Charlie Austin from Southampton in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that Southampton are willing to listen to offers for the 29-year-old former Queens Park Rangers forward.
The Saints are claimed to be willing to sell the Englishman at the right price in the summer transfer window.
Austin has been on the books of Southampton since January 2016 when he joined from QPR for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4 million.
The Englishman had had injury issues during his time at St. Mary’s Stadium so far, and when he has been fit and available, he has struggled for playing time.
According to WhoScored, Austin made 11 starts and 14 substitute appearances in the Premier League for Southampton this past season, scoring two goals and providing two assists in the process.
Villa will play in the Premier League next season after winning promotion from the Championship via the playoffs.
