According to Sky Sports, Aston Villa have decided to abandon their pursuit of Stoke City goalkeeper Jack Butland.
It has been reported that Villa are interested in signing goalkeeper Butland from Championship club Stoke in the summer transfer window.
The Potters reportedly want £25 million as transfer fee for the 26-year-old goalkeeper, who is claimed to want to leave the Championship club.
However, according to Sky Sports, Stoke will not agree for anything less than £25m for the England international, and Villa have decided not to pursue their interest in the goalkeeper.
The report, though, has claimed that Villa – who will play in the Premier League next season after clinching promotion from the Championship via the playoffs – are still keen on landing a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Sports, Premier League club Bournemouth are also interested in securing the services of Butland this summer, but the Cherries are not willing to pay £25m for him.
