Report: Ancelotti making transfer moves, trying to convince 29-year-old to join Everton

Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti has contacted Napoli midfielder Allan in order to convince him to join the Goodison Park club in the summer, according to Tutto Mercato.

The 29-year-old has been having a rough season with the Serie A where he was termed as one of the leading characters who started the dressing room revolt against the club president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

As per the latest report, Ancelotti, who has worked with Allan during his time as the manager of the Naples-based club has personally contacted the player to convince him to come to Everton in the summer.

The Italian boss is seemingly set to overhaul the Toffees squad ahead of next season.

However, it will be interesting to see how Everton will end up convincing Napoli to let the Brazil international leave the club as he currently has a contract with them until the summer of 2023.

Allan has been with the Italian club since the summer of 2015 when he moved from league rivals Udinese.

Since then, the central midfielder has represented his current club in 199 matches in all competitions, where he has managed to score 10 times and also provided 16 assists.

Everton could use someone of his stature in the centre of midfield, with the Merseyside club missing Idrissa Gana Gueye this season.

The Toffees have invested heavily in the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin, Jean-Philippe Gbamin and Fabian Delph, but the club still have not settled on a first-choice pairing in the boiler room.

Allan would be an excellent signing for Everton, but the Goodison Park club would surely face competition for the South American’s signing should he become available.
