Chelsea picked up their first point of the season on Sunday afternoon when they drew 1-1 with Leicester City, and while it wasn’t the result their fans wanted, they were quick to point out a potential star from the contest, when they reacted to it on social media after the final whistle.

The Blues will have been desperate to get a result of some kind, to put the opening week thrashing by Manchester United behind them, and while they would have been looking for all three points at Stamford Bridge, in the end they were slightly fortunate to pick up the one they eventually bagged.

Chelsea boss Frank Lampard will have known their task was made no easier against the Foxes by the fact that his side were competing in Istanbul in the early hours of Thursday morning, and won’t have had much time to recover for this contest.

With that in mind, he made a few changes to the side which got the game underway against Liverpool in midweek, with one of those coming into the starting XI being the man who gave the Blues the lead.

Mason Mount was the player in question, as he capitalised on an error by Wilfried Ndidi to find the back of the net and set Chelsea on their way, however the Londoners could not hang on as the Leicester midfielder made up for his mistake in the second half to earn the visitors a point.

The Blues were hanging on at the end. Whether that was a by-product of their midweek exertions or something more of a concern, we will have to wait and see.

Despite the disappointment of dropping a couple of points, the Chelsea fans were impressed with the display put in by Mount, a man who could well be one of their leading lights this term.

Here are some of their Twitter posts about his performance:
