Rangers boss Steven Gerrard will not be calling upon his new signings for Saturday’s visit of St Mirren, according to Sky Sports.
Glen Kamara and Matt Polster joined Gers during the January transfer window, however both players will be given time to get up to match fitness before making their first appearances for the club.
Rangers will also be without central defender Connor Goldson, who has picked up a foot injury and adds to Gerrard’s casualty list.
Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy both remain side lined with knee complaints, while Eros Grezda hasn’t recovered fully from an ankle problem, with the trio working hard on their rehab.
Despite Rangers facing the bottom club in the Scottish Premier League, it will be a much tougher prospect than back in November when the two sides last faced each other.
Gers came away from that meeting with a 2-0 victory, however St Mirren have brought in 10 players during the transfer window in an attempt to turn their season around.
Following the winter break, Gerrard’s men have recovered from a 2-1 defeat away to Kilmarnock to record back-to-back victories over Livingston and Cowdenbeath.
Rangers are heavy favourites to extend that winning run, having never lost at home to St Mirren in the Scottish Premiership.
The last time Gers lost in this fixture was back in 2011, having won 11 of the last 13 meetings, and they will be hoping to continue that form and remain in touch with the league leaders.
Gerrard’s men are six points off the top of the table, and can’t afford to drop points if they are to challenge for the title.
