Steven Gerrard is looking to pick up his first Scottish Premiership win as Rangers boss this afternoon, as they welcome St Mirren to Ibrox.

Last week they were dealt a cruel blow away to Aberdeen, as a 93rd minute equaliser denied the 10-man visitors a victory.

Gerrard was left frustrated with the 1-1 draw, but will be pleased that Alfredo Morelos will be available after a successful appeal against his red card.

Rangers will still be without midfielder Ryan Jack though, as a Sky Sports match preview confirmed he is still sidelined with concussion.

The 26-year-old was also absent for the Gers’ midweek victory over Maribor, as he sustained a head knock late on against Aberdeen.

Rangers could give Borna Berisic his debut though, as the Croatia international full-back joined from NK Osijek on Tuesday.

Graham Dorrans remains on the casualty list however, and is due to see a specialist regarding an issue with his knee.

Defender Lee Wallace is unavailable due to a groin injury, while Jordan Rossiter will also play no part as he recovers from an ankle problem.

Rangers have a brilliant record over their opponents, winning 17 of the last 21 meetings with St Mirren and losing on just two occasions.

The Gers have won nine of their last 14 league games at Ibrox and haven’t been held to a draw in front of their home supporters since October 2017.

Following an impressive 3-1 victory in their Europa League qualifier on Thursday, Rangers will be confident they can pick up their first Premiership win of the season.
