Rangers forward Joe Dodoo wants to depart the club due to frustrations over a lack of playing time, according to Football Ghana.
The 24-year-old was eyeing a starring role within Steven Gerrard’s side this season, but hasn’t pulled on a Gers shirt so far this season.
Dodoo hasn’t played for Rangers since March 2018, as he featured in a 4-1 Scottish FA Cup victory over Falkirk.
Prior to that, the striker spent the first half of the 2017/18 season on loan at Charlton Athletic, where he scored twice as he made just three starts and five substitute appearances.
Dodoo enjoyed a more successful spell away from Rangers last season, as he was called upon 25 times by Blackpool and found the net on six occasions.
The Ghana international made an instant impact at the Scottish club back in 2016, scoring on his debut as a substitute in a 3-0 victory over East Stirling.
Dodoo has two goals in his first three outings, also scoring against Peterhead, with all five of his goals for Rangers coming in that debut season.
Appearances have been hard to come by of late, especially with both Alfredo Morelos and Jermaine Defoe in front of the 24-year-old in the Gers pecking order.
It is hard to see regular football being achievable for Dodoo while at Rangers, with a number of players currently in his way.
The forward has managed just 27 Gers appearances in total since breaking on to the scene, with just six of those being starts.
If regular first team football is what Dodoo wants, then a move away from Ibrox is probably for the best, and would suit both parties.
The Rangers striker will have to find a new club before Monday 2nd September though, or he will be consigned to another season where he is considered as a bit-part player.
