Leeds United went back to the top of the Championship on Wednesday evening when they saw off Brentford 1-0 at Elland Road, and after the match all the talk from their fans on social media was about their match winner on the night.
The build up to the contest centred on the return of former Whites defender Pontus Jansson, and for much of the game the Swede will have been thinking that he would leave Yorkshire with a point against his old teammates, however there was a late twist in the tale.
Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa decided not to utilise loan signing Eddie Nketiah from the beginning against the Bees, but with time ticking down and the match still goalless, the Argentine threw on the youngster, to huge effect as he popped up with the winning goal to continue the unbeaten start to the campaign for the Elland Road outfit.
The Arsenal forward benefitted from an assist on a plate for another Whites’ summer signing Helder Costa in the final 10 minutes against Brentford, tapping home after the former Wolves man had done all the hard work for him.
That is the second time that Nketiah has had a positive impact for Leeds, having impressed for the Championship side against Salford City in the Carabao Cup last week, and supporters are beginning to wonder when he is going to get a start in the league, with concerns beginning to mount over the reliability of regular striker Patrick Bamford.
Whites’ supporters are impressed with what they have seen from the 20-year-old so far in his short time with the club, and were full of praise for him after his goal sealed a vital three points against a side there is no love lost with, after a fiery clash last season.

The impact of our loans this season in Nketiah, Costa, and White has already, in just 5 games, been greater than our loans of all of last season- Blackman, Baker, Brown #lufc

I must admit I was angry and bewildered about the sale of Pontus Jansson
I felt even worse following the departure of Kemar Roofe
It is early days but I am highly delighted with their replacements Ben White and Eddie Nketiah 😃#lufc
