Preview: Ipswich Town vs Arsenal – Prediction, Team News, Line-ups

Arsenal will look to delay Liverpool’s coronation as they take on Ipswich Town at Portman Road on Sunday afternoon.

Defeat could end the title charge for Mikel Arteta’s side, while the Tractor Boys will suffer relegation to the Championship if they fail to pick up any points and other results go against them.

Match Preview

Arsenal’s title hopes are almost over, but the Premier League is no longer their main priority as they have switched all their focus on winning the Champions League.

The Gunners have progressed to the semi-final of the prestigious competition after sealing an excellent 5-1 aggregate win over Real Madrid.

There was plenty of talk in the media about a remarkable Madrid turnaround at their Bernabeu home, but the Londoners came away with a comfortable 2-1 triumph on Wednesday following goals from Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.

The result means Arsenal have made it to the Champions League final four for the first time since 2009.

On the other hand, stakes are much higher for Ipswich who could be officially relegated if they fail to spring a surprise this weekend.

Kieran McKenna’s side surprised everyone by earning promotion from the Championship last season, but things have not worked out for them in the Premier League.

Losing 19 of their 32 matches, the Sufflock based outfit have not left the drop zone since November. They are now 14 points behind 17th-placed West Ham United, which means relegation is almost inevitable for them.

Team News

Jaden Philogene will likely be out for Ipswich after picking up a knee injury at Chelsea last weekend. They will also be unable to call upon the services of Kalvin Phillips, Wes Burns, Sammie Szmodics, Arijanet Muric and Chiedozie Ogbene as they are all confined to the infirmary.

Meanwhile in Arsenal news, they are expected to be without Jorginho who sustained a knock against Brentford. Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Magalhaes, Kai Havertz and Takehiro Tomiyasu will also be missing due to fitness issues, while Riccardo Calafiori may not recover in time for Sunday’s away clash.

Ipswich Town vs Arsenal prediction

With Crystal Palace to visit the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, Arteta will likely make a few changes to the team against Ipswich. However, the Tractor Boys will be low on confidence and so we don’t believe they can earn any points against Arsenal on Sunday.
