Leeds United take on Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town on Sunday in an important Championship clash for both sides’ promotion hopes at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The visitors are coming off the back of a 2-1 victory away at Blackburn Rovers, but Garry Monk will know that a step up is required if his men are to get anything from the clash with the Terriers.
Huddersfield beat Championship leaders Brighton & Hove Albion on Thursday night and as such go into the game full of confidence.
Monk has a number of critical personnel decisions to make for the match, especially given the transfer deadline day loan additions of Modou Barrow and Alfonso Pedraza.
Although the Spaniard may well be in the matchday squad he is unlikely to start, but the Swansea City loanee may be given a chance to play from the first whistle, possible ahead of Hadi Sacko.
Eunan O’Kane started in midfield at Ewood Park but Monk may look to Ronaldo Vieira and his energy instead against Huddersfield, while Pablo Hernandez came off the bench against Blackburn but is in with a big chance of starting here.
As such, with three changes from the team that won in midweek, here is Leeds’ predicted starting XI for the important Huddersfield clash.
Leeds (4-2-3-1): Green; Ayling, Bartley, Jansson, Berardi; Bridcutt, Vieira; Dallas, Hernandez, Barrow; Wood
