Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe is reportedly interested in making a move for Swansea right-back Connor Roberts, according to a report published by Wales Online.
The 23-year-old was one of the stars for an inconsistent Swans side this season as he went on to make 45 appearances, scoring five goals and recording one assist.
Roberts has reportedly been on the radar of the Cherries for some time and is likely to make a move to the Premier League this summer.
He certainly does have the qualities which are required to succeed in the English top-flight and Bournemouth would be smart to move for him now.
The report added that Swans chiefs will demand around £10 million for Roberts. As he is contracted to them until the summer of 2022, they will be able to demand a higher fee, nevertheless £10 million would still present a bargain fee for a Premier League worthy player in today’s market.
If Roberts goes on to establish himself as a star at the Vitality Stadium, Howe’s club could stand to potentially triple the profit that they will make on a sale.
Bournemouth meanwhile have also been watching Swans star Daniel James. However, they could be set to lose the race to sign the winger to Manchester United who are also interested. United are set to undergo a summer overhaul after having failed to finish within the top four of the standings this season.
Bournemouth finished the season in 14th place. They should aim to finish in the top half of the standings next season. If they fail to sufficiently bolster their side this summer, they could potentially even be in the relegation dogfight next season.
