Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has delivered more positive injury news in regards to Toby Alderweireld, with the defender’s scan coming back all clear.
The crucial Belgian defender was stretchered off in Spurs’ 1-1 draw against West Brom in the Premier League over the weekend, with the North London club’s support fearing the worst.
Alderweireld was hurt in a collision with Jan Vertonghen and picked up what looked like a serious knee injury.

However, Pochettino remained optimistic in the aftermath of the incident that the former Southampton loanee would not be out of action for too long.
Speaking after Tottenham’s 0-0 draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League on Tuesday night, the Argentine has admitted that a scan on Alderweireld’s knee has been returned positive, with no need for surgery.
Eric Dier deputised in the Belgian’s absence at the BayArena, but Pochettino will hope to have the former Ajax enforcer back available for the Premier League clash with Bournemouth this weekend.
