Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed to Sky Sports that striker Vincent Janssen will not return to the Premier League club this month.

Reports in the Turkish media this week have suggested that Fenerbahce could end the centre forward’s loan deal in Istanbul and send the Netherlands international back to Spurs.

Tottenham striker Janssen has scored only two goals in 11 appearances in his temporary spell in Turkey and has picked up a serious injury of late.

With the Dutch forward set to be unavailable to play in the next three months, suggestions in the press have stated that the 23-year-old could return to North London to recuperate.

However, Sky Sports have reported that Pochettino has confirmed at a press conference that he does not expect Janssen to be back at Tottenham until the end of the season.

Spurs have had issues in attack over recent years, with an able deputy to Harry Kane not in ready supply.

Fernando Llorente is currently Tottenham’s number two centre forward and as such it remains to be seen what the future holds for Janssen in North London.
