Alan Hutton has spoken highly of Aston Villa winger Anwar El Ghazi to Football Insider.
The former Tottenham Hotspur and Villa right-back – who left the Villans at the end of last season and is now a free agent – has spoken highly of the 24-year-old, having played with him in 2018-19.
Hutton told Football Insider about El Ghazi: “All the ability in the world; fast, strong and a really, really nice guy as well, really got on with the full group.
“He did love it (at Villa), all the boys got on well with him and he was a great guy to be around so it doesn’t surprise me that he’s doing well.”
El Ghazi joined Villa on a season-long loan deal from French club Lille in the summer of 2018.
The Dutchman made 28 starts and six substitute appearances in the Championship for the Villans last season, scoring six goals and providing six assists in the process, according to WhoScored.
The 24-year-old played an important role in Dean Smith’s side clinching promotion from the Championship to the Premier League via the playoffs.
According to The Sun, Villa paid Lille a transfer fee of £8 million to sign the winger on a permanent contract in the summer of 2019.
So far this season, the former Ajax star has made three starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Villa so far this season, scoring one goal in the process, according to WhoScored.
