‘Only one place I want to play’ – Celtic fans favourite reiterates desire to stay at Parkhead

Glasgow Celtic star Leigh Griffiths has rejected transfer rumours and made it clear that he wants to continue playing for the Bhoys, as per Celtic TV.

The Scottish international has struggled to feature regularly for Neil Lennon’s side in the first half of the campaign, but he has made a big comeback for the Hoops in the second half.

The 29-year-old striker started in both the recent two games for Celtic, netting a goal each in the Scottish Cup game against Patrick Thistle and the league game against Kilmarnock.

Griffiths has already scored five goals and made two assists in 20 appearances for his team this season.

In the recent interview with the club’s official channel, Griffiths rejected the recent transfer claims that linked him with a move away from Celtic Park.

“I felt sharp”, he said.

“I think, going over there, you need to put in that extra bit to try and catch the manager’s eye and show him that you still want to be a part of the squad.

“There’s been a lot of talk of maybe me going out on loan or getting sold, but there’s only one place I want to play and that’s here.

“I think I have done myself justice in Dubai and try to take that form in training back over here.”

Celtic are overly reliant on Odsonne Edouard for goals and recently splurged on new centre forward Patryk Klimala.

Griffiths is well liked by the Hoops fans but has had his fair share of personal issues in recent times.

For Celtic to retain their top-flight title, getting Griffiths up and running, and contributing to the goals tally, will be essential.
