Tottenham Hotspur faced Manchester City for the second time in a week at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon, however, they were on the wrong end of a 1-0 defeat.

Phil Foden netted the only goal of the game inside the first five minutes which has left Spurs’ chances of finishing in the top-four a little fragile, despite the weekend’s other results.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side may well be in the Champions League semi-final, where they will meet Ajax for a place in the final, although with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United right on their tails, it could be a tense and nervy few remaining matches in the top-flight.

Spurs fans were not too fussed with the end result after the game, following their win in the elite European competition, however, they still took to Twitter in their droves to share their opinions.

And, one man that appeared to earn plenty of plaudits with his performance at the Etihad Stadium was Juan Foyth.

Fans commented that the centre-back had been ‘class’ on the pitch and many expect him to have a really bright ‘future’.

The young Argentine defender was utilised as a right-back in the game and certainly made an impression.

It would not be a surprise to see Pochettino use the fringe man more often, especially with Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier failing to prove reliable for Tottenham throughout the campaign.

Here are some of the Spurs fans reactions to his performance on Twitter:
