Championship side Nottingham Forest are set to go back in for Aberdeen ace Scott McKenna, even though they have already had a £3 million bid rejected, according to the Daily Record.
Forest begin their domestic campaign this weekend, but are still putting together the squad they believe will get them promotion back to the Premier League under new boss Sabri Lamouchi.
The City Ground outfit have high hopes expected of them this term, but if they are going to get their hands on the Dons defender, they are going to have to work incredibly hard because the Pittrodie side are not wanting to lose their star man.
Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is not in the habit of letting his best players go, and is expected to fight hard to keep hold of the 22-year-old, although whether the lure of the English second tier will be too much for the Scotland international to turn down remains to be seen.
Nottingham Forest are blessed with central defenders at the present time, with the likes of Michael Dawson, Michael Hefele, Joe Worrall and Yohan Benalouane among the vast number of options that they have in that area of the pitch, but not happy with that, they are strongly looking to get their hands on McKenna.
They are not the only Championship side bidding for his services though, with Queens Park Rangers also said to have had a bid for him turned down, so if they are going to take their man to the City Ground, they will need to act swift.
McKenna has featured 81 times for Aberdeen since making his debut in 2016, after graduating through the academy at Pittodrie, and he also has 12 caps for his country, so if Forest can land him they would be getting a huge talent with experience at the highest levels.
