Nottingham Forest have made an approach to take Watford attacker Jerome Sinclair on loan for the rest of the season, according to Sky Sports.

The City Ground outfit find themselves in the lower reaches of the Championship table after a 2-0 defeat to Leeds United on Wednesday night, with January additions a potentially tonic for the managerless side.

Sinclair left boyhood club Liverpool to join Watford in the summer but has found first-team football hard to come by under Walter Mazzarri.

With the 20-year-old only starting one Premier League game so far in 2016-17, a temporary stint in the Championship seems like an option that would suit all parties.

Sinclair is adjudged as a talent for the future but the Birmingham-born forward needs to play regular senior football to aid his development and reach his potential.

Forest have scored 38 goals in their 28 Championship games so far this season, with Britt Assombalonga and Apostolos Vellios both top-scoring with six strikes apiece.
