Norwich City take on Preston North End in the Championship on Wednesday and will be looking to aid their promotion hopes with three points.
The Canaries, who lead the second-tier standings, will be looking to gain maximum points from the game against their 14th-placed opponents and extend their lead at the top of the table.
Both sides have been in good form in the recent past and have similar records during their past six games in all competitions. During that period, Preston have won three games, drawing twice and losing once.
Norwich meanwhile have also won three of their last six games in all competitions, drawing two and losing once. Both sides enter the game on the back of wins after Norwich defeated Ipswich Town last weekend and Preston won 2-1 against Bolton Wanderers.
Canaries midfielder Mario Vrancic, who suffered an ankle injury during the first half of the game against Ipswich on Saturday, is set to be out of action for up to three weeks, according to the club’s official website.
The report added that Todd Cantwell and Emi Buendia, who also both picked up slight ankle injuries, are available for the game against Preston.
Norwich are reportedly close to being able to recall centre back Timm Klose and midfielder Moritz Leitner. Both players will however likely play no part in the game on Wednesday.
Leitner made a return to training last week after spending two months on the sidelines due to injury.
He however needs more time to get back to match sharpness. The 30-year-old Klose is expected to return to Norwich training this week.
The German has so far played 23 Championship games this season, scoring four goals and notching one assist.
