Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Benfica youngster Goncalo Guedes due to his star performances for the Lisbon-based outfit, Portuguese newspaper Record report.
The 19-year-old is a product of the Estadio da Luz’s fabled youth academy and has broken into the first team over the last 12 months.

Versatile enough to operate anywhere along the forward line, Guedes has been on the Portuguese radar for some years and represented his country from under-15 level through to two caps for the senior national team.
The teenage attacker has become a regular in Rui Vitoria’s starting XI, playing five of Benfica’s Primera Division’s seven games from the first whistle this term and coming off the bench in the other two.
United have had joy with Portuguese wingers over the years, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Nani both playing a prominent role in the team’s success under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Guedes has received the chance to play due to the sale of Nicolas Gaitan over the summer and the Benfica winger has the Red Devils as reported suitors.
The report suggests the Old Trafford outfit had scouts in attendance to watch the young star as the current league leaders beat Feirense 4-0 at the weekend.
