Danny Mills has told Football Insider that Newcastle United striker Joelinton needs to keep his cool under pressure.
The former Leeds United and Manchester City right-back – who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports – believes that Joelinton can be a success in the Premier League for the Magpies.
Mills has suggested that the 23-year-old Brazilian has to keep his cool under pressure and make the most of the chances that he will get.
Mills told Football Insider: “Physically, he’s got all the attributes in terms of physicality and all those type of things. He’s just got to make sure he’s getting into the right positions and has a cool head under pressure to take those chances.
“He’s not going to be afforded as many chances as Sergio Aguero, as Raheem Sterling, as Mo Salah, Sadio Mane, as Harry Kane. Sometimes it’s even harder for those centre forwards because the chances are fewer and further between.
“He needs to get that balance of being relaxed and when he gets that opportunity, put the ball in the back of the net.”
Newcastle United struggles
Joelinton joined Newcastle from 1899 Hoffenheim in the summer transfer window amid much expectations.
The 23-year-old, though, has failed to make a huge impact at St. James’ Park so far this season and has been struggling in front of goal.
According to WhoScored, the Brazilian striker has scored one goal in five Premier League appearances for Steve Bruce’s side so far this season.
The Magpies are third from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment with four points from five matches.
The Magpies will face Brighton & Hove Albion at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
