With Glasgow Rangers signing George Edmundson this summer and again being linked with Martin Skrtel, the Ibrox side should switch to a three-man defence.
This would allow James Tavernier to play right wing-back and concentrate more on attacking teams, rather than defending more than necessary.
On the left side Rangers have Borna Barisic or Jordan Jones to play as a left wing-back.
I personally would use Ross McCrorie or Ryan Jack as the holding midfield player, with everybody else attacking as much as possible.
The strength of the new-look Rangers side is the quality of their talented and hard-working midfield.
Joe Aribo is the player I was hoping Rangers would sign. He is an exciting attacking midfielder with loads of ability and a knack for scoring goals.
Aribo has started to train with the rest of his new Gers teammates and has the potential to have a big impact at Ibrox in 2019-20.
Glen Kamara has been outstanding since signing for the Glasgow club and appears to have everything in his locker to improve further.
Scott Arfield was a revelation as the 2018-19 season wore on, with the former Burnley man forcing his way into being picked to start in the Rangers line up.
Steve Davis eventually struck top form as he got himself match-fit, and is another player that will have a big impact for Rangers next season.
Despite Steven Gerrard having plenty of options in his squad, here’s the first-team starting XI that I would choose.
Line up in a 3-3-3-1 formation:
Goldson, Skrtel/Edmundson, Katic
Tavernier Jack Barisic
Aribo, Kamara, Arfield
