Leeds United suffered a shock 2-0 home defeat to Hull City in the Championship on Saturday afternoon, and after the match their supporters reacted negatively to the performance of one of their midfielders.

In many ways, although the loss to the Tigers was a surprising one, it could be said that it was coming, given the dramatic late turnarounds the Whites have had to produce to get themselves out of trouble in recent matches.

Having come from 2-0 down to beat Aston Villa 3-2, and then finding the net twice in injury time to turn a 2-1 deficit into another 3-2 victory against Blackburn Rovers, Leeds’ luck finally ran out against Nigel Adkins’ men.

There is a slight concern that Marcelo Bielsa’s outfit are beginning to feel the pace, a trend which has happened before with his high pressing and strong energetic style requiring extreme physical demands.

Injuries are not helping Leeds at the present time either, and although they remain top of the Championship table heading into 2019, their fans will be hoping the defeat was a blip rather than a rot setting in.

One man who was way below his best against Hull on Saturday was midfielder Adam Forshaw. He has struggled to shine in a Whites shirt so far, with a lack of continuity around him not helping him much.

His difficulties were highlighted as his passing was exposed, and his lack of confidence caused him to give the ball away a number of times, and put Leeds under pressure they could have done without being the subject of.

Whites’ fans recognised his struggles, with many of them expressing their concerns over his performance levels on social media after the final whistle.

Some Leeds supporters believe he is not good enough, with many putting forward names who could possibly replace him.
