Napoli have reportedly submitted a new bid for signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Orel Mangala.
According to Florian Plettenberg, the Serie A side are looking to sign him on loan with an obligation to buy.
The total package including the loan fee is said to be around €30 to €35 million, but the Premier League side are not impressed as they want more.
The 25-year-old joined Forest in the summer of 2022 from VfB Stuttgart, and has since made over 50 senior appearances, scoring two goals.
The Belgian has also been a very important member of the English team this season, starting 18 Premier League matches.
However, the club were recently charged with breaching the league’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), and so they could look to sell players to balance the books.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side have already sanctioned departures for Gustavo Scarpa, Pharrell Johnson and Oli Hammand, but more outgoings are expected this month.
Managala arrived at the City Ground in 2022 but they have seemingly decided to cash in on him before the January transfer window closes.
The deal for the 25-year-old cost them almost €15 million but they now want more than double that amount.
The Belgian is said to be keen to join Napoli but the Serie A club may have to increase their bid to convince the Tricky Trees.
Turkish outfit Galatasaray and Ligue 1’s Rennes have also made similar proposals but they haven’t been able to reach an agreement with Forest.
