Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is ready to let experienced midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger leave Old Trafford for just £2 million, according to The Mirror.

The Portuguese trainer has arrived at the Red Devils this summer and shown no mercy to players that he believes are not in his plans.

The German midfield general has won just about every honour in the global game but following the summer signing of Paul Pogba is not in Mourinho’s thoughts.

Schweinsteiger has been banished to the United reserves and plenty of decorated figures in the sport have criticised the former Chelsea manager for his mistreatment of the former Bayern Munich box-to-box man.

The latest rumbling suggests that the German veteran could leave Old Trafford for as little as £2 million, even though the Premier League side paid £12 million for him 12 months ago.

Although a return to the Bundesliga looks likely, plenty of Premier League teams should be looking at landing a player of Schweinsteiger’s calibre for such a low price and be assessing a potential bid.

  1. How is it strange, he is costing 190k a week in wages, is injury prone, over the hill, and he only cost 6mil to buy, 2mil is realistic.
