Former Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton is keen to bring Gers star Barrie McKay to new club Nottingham Forest for a cut-price deal next January, according to the Daily Mail.
The 22-year-old, who has 12 months left on his current agreement at the Ibrox Stadium, has struggled to agree terms for a new deal with the third-placed Scottish Premier League side after turning down an initial offer in February.

The English second-tier side, who maintained their Championship status with a 3-0 win over Ipswich Town on the final day of the season, will be able to contact the Scotland international during the winter transfer window if no new negotiations between himself and the Light Blues are finalised.
McKay has featured heavily for Rangers this term, making 36 appearances in all competitions as well as providing five goals – including the Gers’ winner against Heart of Midlothian last weekend.
However the winger has struggled to maintain a consistent starting place under boss Pedro Caixinha, who has stated a contract ultimatum of sign-or-go regarding the academy graduate.
Warburton will be keen to add to his squad to evade another relegation battle again next season, and will be looking at players he is familiar with to help him do so.
