Bakayoko is a defensive midfielder that has impressed in Leonardo Jardim’s first team with his mix of power, pace and ability on the ball.
The 22-year-old is also believed to be in the sights of Southampton and Juventus, but Jose Mourinho’s men are keeping a close eye on his progress.
United are yet to fully determine the ideal composition of their central midfield, with getting the best out of world-record signing Paul Pogba one of their major tasks.
France under-21 star Bakayoko is highly rated and could well be an addition at Old Trafford in the new year if the latest media reports are to be believed.
