A rejuvenated Manchester United host Zorya Luhansk at Old Trafford on Thursday night, as they seek their first three points of their Europa League campaign.

The Red Devils put an end to their recent run of three consecutive defeats by beating Northampton away in the EFL Cup last week before their emphatic 4-1 win over Leicester City on Saturday.

An impressive attacking performance yielded four first-half goals and restored optimism around Old Trafford.

The English side will be looking to carry their form over to tonight’s game against their lesser-known opponents, who currently lie in second place in the Ukrainian Premier League – five points behind Shakhtar Donetsk with nine games played.

They made a positive start to their European campaign by drawing 1-1 at home to Turkish side Fenerbache, whilst United suffered a 1-0 defeat away to Feyenoord.

Jose Mourinho has spoken of the importance of tonight’s game, telling the club’s official website that only a win will do.

“To be honest I think we have to win,” he said.

“If we don’t win, we have four matches and I would say we’d have to win all the last four matches, which is difficult so I think tomorrow is very important that we win the game.”

The Portuguese trainer confirmed that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will lead the line for United, but captain Wayne Rooney may find himself on the bench for the second game running after suffering a back problem earlier this week.

Anthony Martial has recovered from injury and may feature, as he looks to kickstart his season.

Left-back Luke Shaw misses out through illness, so Daley Blind, who got himself two assists on Saturday, could start in his place.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who spent four years in Ukraine for Metalurh and Shakhtar Donetsk, is not fit enough to play.

A third consecutive win for United will set them up nicely for their home clash with Stoke City on Sunday.

Predicted Manchester United starting XI (4-3-3) De Gea; Fosu-Mensah, Smalling, Bailly, Blind; Fellaini, Carrick, Pogba; Rashford, Martial, Ibrahimovic
