Premier League giants Manchester United and Chelsea are set to lock horns in the battle to sign prodigious Brazilian duo Gabriel Barbosa and Thiago Maia, according to The Sun.
The pair are both on the books of Santos, Neymar’s former club, and are representing their country at the Olympic Games this summer on home soil.
Barbosa has shot into the collective consciousness with some superb attacking displays in Brazil and got his name on the scoresheet as his nation recorded victory over Denmark in Rio.
Maia is a defensive midfielder with poise, excellent positioning and a solid range of passing.

Both are believed to be coveted by a host of European sides, with Leicester reportedly bidding in excess of £20 million for the attacker and Chelsea in talks with Santos over the midfielder.
The latest report suggests that Jose Mourinho’s current and former employers will go head-to-head over a potential double deal to land two of world football’s most-promising young stars.
Another of Brazil’s poster boys, Gabriel Jesus, has been signed by Manchester City earlier this summer.
