Barcelona playmaker Philippe Coutinho has failed to rule out leaving the Nou Camp, and could be ready to make an amazing return to the Premier League with Manchester United.
The Brazil international has already tasted the English top flight during his successful stay at the Red Devils’ bitter rivals Liverpool, and it could be that he ends up at Old Trafford in the near future, should he leave the Catalans giants.
Coutinho left Anfield in a high profile move to Barcelona last season, but after making a big impression when he arrived in Spain, he has struggled to maintain his form in this campaign, and his goal in the demolition of Lyon in the Champions League was just his fourth since October.
Reports have surfaced recently that the star midfielder is unsettled with the La Liga club, and that he is looking to return to England, with Manchester United having been linked with a £100 million move for the Brazilian.
Chelsea have also been associated with having an eye on the former Liverpool man, and both clubs will be interested to note that Coutinho did not rule out leaving the Nou Camp in a recent interview.
Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has been keen to silence any talk of the Brazilian leaving Spain, but the playmaker only further fuelled the flames when he spoke about the situation.
“In the last few weeks, months even, I’ve not been playing well. But I still want to improve,” Teamtalk.com quote him as saying after the win over Lyon.
“I came to Barcelona to give my best. I live for the moment. You never know what the future holds. I am happy with my performance today.”
It would be an amazing move for Coutinho to sign for Manchester United after forming such an affinity with Liverpool, but at the minute it seems impossible to rule out such an occurrence taking place.
