Premier League top-four hopefuls Manchester United will face off against reigning English champions and major rivals Manchester City at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The two teams have met three times already this season (once in the league and in a League Cup semi-final tie) and United have won two out of the three games.
However, it should be added that City won the League Cup tie 3-2 on aggregate.
As such, United will be looking for some revenge over their arch-rivals in their own backyard.
Old Trafford has proven to be a happy hunting ground for Pep Guardiola’s side during recent times and they have won the past three games against United there.
In a boost for the Red Devils, critical defender Harry Maguire is expected to recover ahead of the game after suffering an injury in training, according to BBC Sport.
The report added that Axel Tuanzebe is fit again whilst United widemen Daniel James and Aaron Wan Bissaka will be assessed.
One player who United fans will hope performs well is goalkeeper David de Gea.
Whilst widely regarded as being one of the best shot-stoppers of the modern generation, the Spaniard has not been at his best this season.
The Red Devils stopper has committed seven errors which have led to goals against United this season and no other keeper in the English top-flight has matched that.
Some United fans feel that De Gea should be replaced between the sticks by Dean Henderson next season.
Henderson was sent on loan to Sheffield United and has been in great form for the Blades this term.
United will hope to get one over their rivals on Sunday and if they record three points, it will be another boost to the Old Trafford outfit’s ambitions of playing Champions League football in 2020-21.
